Text:
Texts will be taken from current music catalogues of popular, jazz, rock, classical, and blues music. Each piece will be analyzed in form, harmony, and melodic content with improvisational application as a class lab project using various resources discovered by the students, but directed and augmented by the instructor. Zen guitar dojo will be discussed with each piece being performed by the students in individual small group settings. Chosen pieces will have a final performance grade and be played live at school. One original piece involving the entire class will be composed and performed in concert.
